NTV300SL black screen on Netflix & unable to go to main menu

My Netflix suddenly stopped working last week. When I try to use Netflix my screen is black & will not let me out of the screen or shut it off on my Netgear. I have to disconnect the power to shut it down. I've called Netflix & after a1 1/2 hours with them they said it was problems with my Netgear. Anyone have an idea what I can do to  fix it?
