Only getting ~400Mbps down on 1.2Gbps service with CM1150V Cable Modem and Nighthawk AC2600 (R7450)
I can't figure this out. I have a CM1150V Cable Modem and Nighthawk AC2600 / R7450 Wi-Fi Router and am only able to get a maximum of just over 400Mbps download speed. I have confirmed this using the ...

Connect a wired PC to the back of the CM1150v and test your speeds with out the 7 series router online.
Possible that your 7 series router maybe the bottle neck and not fully supporing of 900Mpbs which this model router only has 1000Mps WAN and LAN ports and won't see much over 900Mpbs if it supports higher speeds WAN to LAN.

Five (5) 10/100/1000Mbps—(1 WAN & 4
LAN) Gigabit Ethernet ports
Same goes for the CM1150v, its WAN ports are only rated at 1000Mpbs so you'll not see much over 900Mpbs. Nothing at 1.2Gb.
Also your LAN adapter maybe rated for the same, 1000Mpbs.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try a direct-wired speedtest tonight to confirm the Modem isn't the issue.
The WAN port is definately a bottle neck for over 1Gbps, but I should be able to get more than 400Mbps over it. I expected at least 800-900Mbps since this is typically what the videos I've seen on YouTube are getting for Gbit Cable Modem service ising the ISP-provided modem. This is less than 1/2 what I should be getting, but all the hardware seems to be condigured properly.
I've got to be missing something, but I have no idea what it could be.

Id do a full on factory reset and setup the router from scratch. Power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back on. Do not enable any additonial features like QoS, Access Controls, Armor, Traffic Meter or Parental controls. Test with a wired PC connected to the router only. Don't have any other devices connected and use Ooklas speed test app to test the speed. I found that the onboard speed test on the routers web page may not report accurate results on 7 and 8 series routers.
See what speeds you get after a reset...- rhosue21Feb 22, 2022Aspirant
OK. I was hoping to avoid a factory reset because I've set up a lot of devices with reserved IP addresses. If I back up the configuration and restore it after the factory reset, would that potentially carry over any issues?
I'll let you know what I see either way. Thanks for the suggestions.

first try a reset with out the back up config file applied.
