Only getting ~400Mbps down on 1.2Gbps service with CM1150V Cable Modem and Nighthawk AC2600 (R7450)
I can't figure this out. I have a CM1150V Cable Modem and Nighthawk AC2600 / R7450 Wi-Fi Router and am only able to get a maximum of just over 400Mbps download speed. I have confirmed this using the ...

Thanks for the reply. I'll try a direct-wired speedtest tonight to confirm the Modem isn't the issue.
The WAN port is definately a bottle neck for over 1Gbps, but I should be able to get more than 400Mbps over it. I expected at least 800-900Mbps since this is typically what the videos I've seen on YouTube are getting for Gbit Cable Modem service ising the ISP-provided modem. This is less than 1/2 what I should be getting, but all the hardware seems to be condigured properly.
I've got to be missing something, but I have no idea what it could be.

Id do a full on factory reset and setup the router from scratch. Power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back on. Do not enable any additonial features like QoS, Access Controls, Armor, Traffic Meter or Parental controls. Test with a wired PC connected to the router only. Don't have any other devices connected and use Ooklas speed test app to test the speed. I found that the onboard speed test on the routers web page may not report accurate results on 7 and 8 series routers.
See what speeds you get after a reset...

OK. I was hoping to avoid a factory reset because I've set up a lot of devices with reserved IP addresses. If I back up the configuration and restore it after the factory reset, would that potentially carry over any issues?
I'll let you know what I see either way. Thanks for the suggestions.

first try a reset with out the back up config file applied.

So, I had some interesting findings.
I connected my computer directly to the CM1150V cable modem and ran the Ookla Speedtest on several local servers. I discovered that most maxed out at ~400Mbps, but one gave me ~820Mbps... twice. After that, it then fell in line with all the other servers and maxed out at ~400Mbps.
I then reconnected the router and got ~400Mbps through its built in speed test and slightly slower (~350Mbps) on the computer through its wired connection.
Based on this, it looks like the problem is burried inside my CM1150V. I'd check the firmware, but that's all administered by my ISP.
I'm stumped. I know the Cable wire is good because the tech from my ISP was able to get 1.2Gbps using his diagnostic tool. My CM1150V seems capable of the speeds, but only briefly. Is it possible that my link to my ISP is actually running at 1.2Gbps, but there is a bottleneck somewhere on my ISP's side of things that it limiting their speed to these testing servers?
