R7800 - Nighthawk X4S AC2600 Smart WiFi Router
I recently hooked up my R7800 wifi router to my modem using the ethernet cable, and I show on my computer settings and other devices, that I am on the netgear wifi. However, when I go the the router...

Do you happen to have a Netgear modem/router? Perhaps you are connecting to its Wi-Fi network instead of the R7800's Wi-Fi.

I have a Verizon modem/wifi model M1424WR that the Netgear is connected to. if it is connected to the Verizon wifi, and not the netgear wifi (if that is the problem) how do I fix that? The instructions showed that I was to plug the ethernet cable from the netgear to the modem and I did. The lights are white, so I know it is connected to something. And I show that my devices are on the netgear wifi, I just cannot access the website routerlogin.net to login, register the product, or to change the password etc.

- TheEtherNov 26, 2017GuruIf you are sure that you are connected to the Netgear, then routerlogin.net should work. If it's not working, then you can always connect to its IP address. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1.

Hmmm.
When I put the default IP address is 192.168.1.1 into the web address, it takes me to a verizon site asking for the user name and password, not the netgear website.

Maybe the 5th time was the charm...
I unplugged everything (again) but this time I pressed the factory reset button, the hooked everything up again. I also made sure any vpn was disconnected ... finally this time when I went to the login website, it worked.
Hopefully it will keep working. I do appreciate your assistance.
