Re: Unable to update cable modem firmware
I have a AC1900 C7000v2 that I purchased in August of 2021 and one AC1200 EX6120 extender. My ISP is Comcast.
This is the first time I decided to go with a router not provided by the ISP. I work from home and have consistent dropping of wifi mainly on my work computer, laptop and smartphones. Initially I thought this was due to a poor signal upstairs which is why I have the extender. I have 11 devices connected to the wifi.
Based on the threads I've read, I thought updating the firmware was the solution but have found that I cannot do this based on the router model I have. I have confirmed that my firmware is up to date but I still experience this constant wifi loss about 10 to 15 times per day when I'm working.
Any thoughts or help is much appreciated.

Not easy to diagnose this issue with so little detail to go on.
How does this "consistent dropping of wifi" manifest itself? Have you confirmed that it is the wifi and not the Internet connection?
Is this 5 GHz or 2.4GHz wifi?
Have you tried different wifi bands?
Any neighbours there to create interference?
Is this connected to the modem/router or the extender?
What is the property made of? Some building materials are great at blocking wifi.
