Reset WAN IP Address on Nighthawk cm1150v
Need to release and renew the IP address assigned by Xfinity. I do not see any option in the Netgear Genie page, basic or advanced. There has got to be a way other than disconnecting the modem for ...

Yeah, I know...I contacted Xfinity to request that they release my IP address so I could obtain a different one and they would not do it because my cm1150v is not theirs. I have a weird issue where I am unable to access Amazon or any of its services any longer, all other sites are fine, connectivity to Amazon when connected to VPN works fine, so I've pinned down that my Xfinity provided IP address has been blocked or blacklisted either at Xfinity or at Amazon...likely the former. So, at this point, obtaining a new IP address is the only way that I know to resolve the issue.

You need to investigate why the WAN IP address is being blocked. IF your not doing anything nefarious, then the WAN IP address should not be blocked. I would talk to both your ISP an Amazon and find out whats going on.

Turns out the issue had to do with the DNS server that was being used. Updated to use Google's DNS and ***POOF*** everything on Amazon started working again. :) IP address was not blocked or blacklisted. However, I was unable to determine how to change the IP address being assigned to my wireless router. I learned that the IP address being provided to the modem from my provider is not the same as the one that shows up as the WAN IP address in my wireless router and that's ultimately where the problem was.

addresses? If you're worried about revealing secrets, then the top half
of an address, "a.b" out of "a.b.c.d", would satisfy most of my
curiosity. If it starts with "192.168.", then there's no reason to hide
any of it.Generally, a CMxxxx model is a modem only, so it wouldn't
need/get/have an external IP address; it would only pass through the
request from, and response to, the device which is connected to it
(which typically would be a router).
