Router causing static
I have an older model netgear router which has been working fine until I upgraded my model and now the router is interferring with our scanner and pager (my husband is a firefighter). I don't know if...

What was the "an older model netgear router"? What is the "upgraded"
model?

Without a model number, neither do I, but it would be pretty normal.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Look for "channel".

Is that your "older" one, your "upgraded" one, or neither? As "EOL"
might suggest, that's not a recent model.
I'm sorry I mistyped. I have a new MODEM from Spectrum. My router is older. I'm wondering if I need a dual ban router?

With my weak psychic powers, I still know approximately nothing about
what you have, let alone what you might need. Do any of these gizmos
have makers and model numbers? Care to share?I am so sorry. The netgear router I have is a RangeMax Wireless Router WPN824 v2.
The modem is DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Modem (which I got from Charter/Spectrum - our internet provider).

Still not really a maker and model number, but the attached data
sheet suggests that it really is only a modem, not a modem+router, which
is a valuable datum.
The question now is: Which gizmo is causing the noise problem? Blame
assignment is job one. If you power off the new modem, does the noise
go away? If you power off the old router, does the noise go away? If
the new modem is the source, then fiddling with the router settings
might not have much effect.
