Router Feature C7000V2

Hello all.  Does anyone know if this router, or any router, is capable of recording and time-stamping device MAC addresses that come into range of the router and do a "handshake" with the router?  I don't mean devices that actually connect to the WiFi and receive an IP address, I mean devices that simply come into range of the WiFi signal.  Also, I don't mean looking at a live list of devices, I want the ability to go back and look at a list of devices that were in range of the router at a previous time.  The idea being, if someone breaks into your house, and their WiFi was turned on on the phone they have with them, then the router would log that phone's MAC address.  You could retrieve the MAC address from the router then provide to police since it is an unknown MAC address that was attached to the router during the time of the crime.  Just curious if this is possible.  Thanks!

Most home class routers won't have this ability. Most wifi devices are passive and only recieve until the security portion of the handshake begins. This mainly starts after the PW has been correctly entered. Any logged of connected devices gets logged sometimes after the secuity process as been met.
