router login not secure
Today when I logged into my AC1900 Model C7000v2 the Connection indicated that it's not secure. I don't recall seeing this in the past.
Has the login address changed? I use: http://192.168.0.1/
Thank you

what happens if you using HTTPS instead of HTTP?
Also using same browser? Browser updated? Browsers can handle or do different things.
Most of the time HTTPS isn't needed on the LAN side and if your the only one managing the modem.
- kathyjoe5AspirantThanks for replying. Sorry, I replied earlier thru my email client, but it doesn't look like it got thru. When I use https, it times out with an error message. I use Firefox and it’s updated.

I guess the C7000 doesn't support HTTPS. Use HTTP and you'll be ok. Nothing to worry about.

Browsers and operating system keep ratcheting up the scary messages they throw out when they see something they don't like.
The trouble can be that they see something that would be worrying when encountered out on the Internet bit that are perfectly safe when they are on your own local network.
Likewise, Windows differentiates between public and private networks when it decides what messages to throw at you.

FYI: When I checked the news this am,and I wasn't even looking for these. An article saying over 200 routers are vulnerable and that Netgear issued a Security Warning on 5-2. Links:

Don't know if this is related to my issue or not, but might want to read

These come up all the time. Those sites exist to scare everyone and make money on the side.
You can usually find similar information here:
Security Advisory | About Us | NETGEAR
Spot the similarities.
Often they refer to threats found in security labs that don't make it to the outside world.
Those threats won't show up as security issues in browsers. They haven't been around long enough to get that far.
