Sad Comcast firmware for CM1200

The Comcast firmware for the CM1200 modem is kind of pathetic.  Sure it works, but whats with the interface and total lack of options or features?  I understand it's new and not a router but I was suprised at what I saw when I logged into it.

Does Comcast write their own firmware for it and make it look ugly just because it's not their own equipment?

FW comes from NG. ISPs test it so it works on there systems first before pushing to modems out on there network.

    WYSIWYG.

I understand that fully, I just hope we can expect more from the GUI in the near future.

Doubtful. Not much use or need for lots of configurations on modems. Mostly set it and forget it. Doesn't really need a bunch of menu items for that. Especially on modem only units. Also not much memory or room for web page data. I presume NG reserves any free memory for any code changes that maybe needed.
