Second modem connecttion

I have a wireless cable modem connected at one end of my house. I want to connect my CM700 through a cable splitter at the entrance of the cable in my basement for high speed internet through a CAT5 cable.. Can I do this?

Something to contact your ISP about. Usually a 2nd service line will be needed. ISP will know.

Has it a maker and model number?

       "connected" to what?

       A CM700 is a cable-TV-type modem, not a wireless anything.

_Why_ do you want to do anything?  Have you some actual goal in mind,
beyond running cables around your house?

    > [...] through a cable splitter [...]

If you mean a co-axial cable, then your (unspecified) ISP would
probably be unhappy if you tried to connect multiple modems to their
    line.

    > [...] Can I do this?

I don't know what "this" is.

If you actually have a (wireless) router connected to your CM700,
then you should be able to run an Ethernet cable from it to the other
end of your house, where you could then connect something else, like,
say, a computer, or a wireless access point.

Without an accurate description of what you actually have, or what
you actually want to achieve, it's tough to offer specific advice of any
    value.
