Security concerns

I have received an email from security@e.netgear.com saying its a firmware update and directing me to go to http://www.routerlogin.net.  Is this for real, or a hoax.

    Safest thing to do is go to support.netgear.com, enter your router's model number and download the firmware directly. Follow the instructions in the Release Notes to install it.
