Self assigned IP address
I bought several months ago a C3700-100NAS router that I use with the 2.4GHz frequency.
Every couple of days or weeks I encounter the following issue:
- None of my devices can connect to the internet: they have a self assigned ip address, 169.xxx.xxx.xxx instead of 192.168.0.xxx.
- I can still connect with the 5GHz frequency.
- Rebooting the router solves the issue.
I've read on some other threads that the issue may be related to DHCP. I've tried to assign a static IP address to one of my computer but the problem persists.
Any idea for further troubleshooting?
Thanks,
Olivier

Hi,
yes, those problems are mostly related to DHCP. When the problem happens, is it possible to provide us two items to DarrenM PM
1. Backup config file of the Modem Router
2. A wireshark capture on your laptop's wifi interface when the problem happens (if you need help on this let me know).
Also, next time it happens, can you please reset wireless network interface (by disabling/enabling) it as well just to confirm any interface conflicts on the laptop.
