Settings for 3d printer with web interface. Widows 10/chrome

 I have a new 3d printer that uses a web interface to control it and a ethernet cable between the device and the modem/router. The initial set up goes like this- I connect to the printers control board with a USB and a terminal emulator program. A few commands enables the network, shows that it is running and assigns an IP address. In this case 192.168.1.14. At this point I am supposed to be able to open the browser, enter the IP and the user interface should open but it doesnt. I get a DNS error or "this site cant be reached". I will freely admit I am network challenged and this is all a bit confusing to me. I thought maybe in the netgear genie I needed to set up an Address Reservation in the LAN setup but when I tried this I got an error that the IP was outside the address pool, which it is, but not able to change the values to accomidate the 192.168.1.14. Anyone that understands how all this works please help. The manufacturer has offered very little only saying that the system is trying to look outside my network for the IP. Thanks in advance
