Slow Internet using R6400 Router

Question

I just upgraded from a 100mbps cable internet plan to a 200mbps. The speed was good (220mbps) using a direct connection from the modem but it slowed to 40mbps wired through the router. I did a factory reset and updated firmware and it didn't help?
