Smart home devices getting dropped

I bought the Nighthawk primarily for Comcast & Xfinity.  Now I'm adding smart home devices (Amazon Echo, Lutron lights, Lumary switches, ecobee thermostat and camera.) There are 47 devices and many switches are "unresponsive."  Is it an issue with the modem/router?
