ALL the lights are off other than ethernet? even the power light is off?
did you just buy this?
did you get it activated by your isp?
Who is your isp?
The ethernet amber means that an ethernet connection is detected at 10/100mbps speeds.

I did just purchase it used.
I have Xfinity but I can’t even get it to do anything in order to register it.- plemansApr 01, 2020Guru - Experienced User
Where you have it hooked up, did it work prior?
Preferablly, hook up the modem directly where the coax enters the home.
Mabye there's an issue with the auto activation or maybe the prior owner had it provisioned with an ISP that doesn't have auto-activation.
You might need to call into xfinity and see if they can provision the mac address.
hardwired into the modem, can you ping it?
When you push and hold reset, do the lights change?
- LtwarrenApr 01, 2020AspirantI’m hooking it up in the same place I had my cm700 hooked up at. The previous modem worked fine.
Even the reset button does not change a thing regardless of how long I press it.
It’s fairly unresponsive....
