Additional information would be very helpful.
What is the actual model number of your cable modem/router? AX2700 is not a model number. Look on the nameplate on the back of the device.
Who is your ISP?
Have you enabled IPv6 in your configuration settings?
Are you using the default domain name servers (DNS) from your iSP?

I'm sorry I'm just not that technical. I'm learning though. I appreciate your response..If you have not configured anything specific, then you are using the Xfinity default DNS.
Log in to the router configuration page and go to the Advanced tab. One of the labeled sections on the left is IPv6. In the IPv6 section, check the box to enable IPv6 and the type should be DHCP. Reboot the gateway.
From the outside, when you are connected back to your router via the VPN, how are you testing your throughput and what device are you connected with? On this device, what version of the OpenVPN application are your running?
