Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?

I am not exactly a computer tech guru. I don't recall which channels the two were set up on but I do believe that they were both set to the same channel. I have no idea how to tell if the Smart Conect is enabled or disabled but can follow most instructions to check if providerd. I was able to find that Sparklight had pushed the most current firmware version to my modem/router.
If I try to do a factory reset followed by a fresh set up will that cause the Firmware version to revert to an older version? I only ask because I learned through research on this forum along with verifying on the website that the firmware updates have to be pushed by ISP providers who don't like to do it because of associated cost.

No, Factory resets do not revert FW updates.
