I have the exact same issue. Same router/modem (c6300) using xfinity (comcast). I am trying to input cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. I'm also getting the invalid IP address error. I've tried changing it to other dns servers with the same result. The default DNS settings for my router are the opendns home 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.
Yes, I don't get why this won't work. I'm trying to spoof, not gonna lie, stuff like yonder or unlocator

On my old router this was never a problem.
