I have a netgear with the netgear genie access portal and I tried to set up static ip everything is saying signal and function is working but still can’t get some devices to load connect to the router...

Only if you want to have devices have a IP address that doesn't change.
For WAN side IP addressing, you'll need to consult with your ISP.

What NG product are you referring too?
Something to maybe contact the ISP about?

That modem doesn’t let me block external ip from sending flood pings and scans. I’m trying to set a different ip so they don’t have easy access but the connection isn’t full even when the signal says it’s working. My ISP can’t do anything about changing ip I’m wondering if they can give access to the static ip on my router that might make the connection be full.- FURRYe38Sep 27, 2024Guru - Experienced User
Would be something you can do on the router side. WAN IP address comes from the ISP. Depending on there IP address lease policy, they may have a time frame on when a modem can get a new WAN IP address. Sometimes powering OFF the modem for a time then back ON may get a new IP address from the ISP. Hours or over night. Not guaranteed.
Who is the ISP?
Some ISPs block access to modems. Sometimes you might get around this by disconnecting the ISP cable coax line from the modem, then factory reset the modem and setup from scratch using a wired PC may get you into the router side of the modem.
