TV via ethernet and everything else via wifi

Hello,

I need help, please, deciding on a new cable modem, and want to build some investment protection into my purchase.  I'm moderately technical and can read tech specs but my head is spinning after reading about port aggregation, etc.

I have a newly installed Netgear Orbi AX6000 (1 router + 2 satellites) - works great, I can go anywhere in the house or edge of my property with strong connection.  I want to upgrade my internet service to the highest I can get around here, which is 1 Gbit.  I have an 8K TV I'd like to connect via ethernet but I want everything else (phones, printers, etc.) connected via wifi.  I know the limit for me, at the moment is 1 Gb on the ethernet, but want to overbuy so I can keep the modem for a while as technology and speeds improve.

Is there a modem out there that will allow me to connect the TV via ethernet at 2.5 or 6Gb someday but also connect all the other stuff at the same speeds via Wifi?  Again, I understand today's limitation for me is 1Gb but I anticipate improvements and can't afford to buy the latest and greatest every year.  The Orbi and TV were real "wallet drainers."

Thank you; advice greatly appreciated.

Most ISPs only have support for 1Gb on the down currently. I haven't heard or seen any ISPs offering a home configuration for any speeds above that currnetly. There are only limited HW avaialble anyways and again, Most LAN ports and routers are limited by the 1000Mbps on the ports. The home consumer is still aways out before we see anything over 1Gb on the LAN side. Theres more to it then just connection speeds.

There is some LAG available on some routers like the Orbi AX or R7960P and the CM1100 and 1200 also support LAN on the WAN side only. Thus you might be able to have a 2Gb connection between the RBR and a CM modem, however you won't see this on the LAN side. You'd can share the bandwidth would be mostly what you would be doing. I have both CM1100 and 1200. Lastly I had my Orbi AX connected the the CM1100 modem then had a 2ndary router connected to the other port on the CM1100 modem. Apparently my ISP supports having two separate IPs on the CM1100 modem as each router I had connected got two dfiferent IPs. I wont say this is possible for all ISPs. Just something I happend to find with my ISP and the CM1100 modem. I believe the 1200 would do the same as well. I haven't been able to out the 1200 online.

If you have a cable ISP, then I would suggest the CM1000/1100/1200 modems. These are broadcom based modems. There are known issues with intel based modems.
