Unable to access Netgear Genie webpage after about a day of uptime

Internet is connected and working though, like I said it tends to be sluggish until I reboot the modem.
As soon as I reboot the modem loading the Genie management page is instant. No problem. But I'd like to not have to reboot daily.


Also as a side issue, all documentation tells me to use the Nighthawk app...but that app doesn't detect this modem/router.

Classic symptoms of a LAN that has two routers connected and fighting each other for control.

First, avoid the mobile application.  It has proven to be of little or no use for setup configuration or troubleshooting.  Use a real computer with a web browser, connected with an Ethernet cable to either your C7000v2 or R8000 to access the device’s user interface.  Http:// is the proper preface and if your browser complains, connect anyway.  Firefox or Edge works fine.  Work to find the LAN IP address of the device you are trying to log in to.   Use it in the address bar of your browser.

The easiest and most versatile configuration is to set your R8000 mode for wired access point operation.  Connect an Ethernet cable between your C7000v2 and the R8000 and reboot the R8000.  You will have Wi-Fi broadcasting from each device and Ethernet ports available at each device.  Since you changed out your modem, you will need to do a firmware default reset on the R8000 and configure it from scratch.  Do not load a previously saved configuration file.  Make sure the two devices are placed at least a few feet apart to avoid Wi-Fi interference.

Another configuration option is to set your C7000v2 in modem only mode.  This disables all router and Wi-Fi functions on the C7000v2.  Configure your R8000 for router mode and let it handle all LAN routing functions.  Active Ethernet ports will only be available on your R8000.  Wi-Fi will broadcast from only one device, the R8000.
