Please confirm what NG product you have. Your tag line says a CM500 which this is a modem only with out built in router nor Wifi.

Do you have a external router connected to this modem?

Hi,

I'm using "N600 WiFi Cable Modem Router", Model - C3700v2.

I tried again but still I'm unable to set the password.

  Factory reset the modem and with a wired PC and web browser walk thru the wet up wizard.
  You can also set a different SSID name as well. You don't have to use NETGEAR47.
