You can't.
Modem only devices aren't user updateable.
And many ISP's rarely update firmware.
You're not alone in this issue.
What issue are you having that you believe you need a firmware update?

Been using CM1150V for about a year, I was consistently getting speed of 850 to 940 Mbsp for 1 Gig service.
Last three weeks, speed has dropped to 30 Mbps! Absolutely no change in my setup.
OPTIMUM says nothing has changed at their end. But I don't trust their tech support. They are mostly clueless just reading a script.
I have hardwire Ethernet from Modem directly to my desktop. No router or any other devices.
Eliminating possibilities. Therefore thought updating Frimware to see if that resolves the issue.

Do you have a screen snip of the cable connection page and the event logs?
That lets us check the signal

Few minutes ago I did a hard reset on the modem (put paper clip in the Reset buttom at the back of the modem).
This seems to have resolved the problem My speed is back up to 940 Mbps.
The Event logs got cleared as part of the reset. Therefore are not of much value.
I will keep checking the speed over the next day and post the details you asked for if it drops back to 30 Mbps.
Thank you.

Good luck, hope it was that simple of a fix.
