Upgrading Firmware
It's my understanding that firmware upgrades to any cable modem are provided via the ISP. In my case, that's Comcast/Xfinity. Thinking of going with the C7800 modem/router combo. Two questions: 1)...
when comcast provisions the device it'll update the firmware with their provisioning. the "router" portion of this will update with their provisioning. Thats the problem with combo devices is that the ISP controls the firmware for the whole device and not just the modem functions
