Use my N600 WiFi Cable Modem Router as an extender?
I'm moving into a new place and the main house has a wifi router already there set up. I'd like to use my N600 as an access point in the cottage behind the house. Can I wirelessly connect my N600 to ...

Sep 15, 2016N600 is not a router model, it's a marketing tool. The Model # is on a label on the router. Once you locate it you can find a manual via the download link at top of this page.
No to your question.

Hi. I don't have the router with me at the moment, but Amazon tells me it is a C3700 model.
What does "no to your question." mean? I can't use it as an extender?

Yes,
Use the dowload tab above and locate the manual for any netgear product you're considering. If you need a extender then purchase one.
Why would you even consider a cable modem router to be used as a extender?

I downloaded the manual but it doesn't have any info on turning it into an extender.
Ordinarily I wouldn't buy a router to use as an extender, but as I mentioned in my initial post I just happen to have this router as an extra piece of equipment and would rather not have to buy another piece of equipment if I don't need to. The house I'm moving into already has a wifi router set up, but it doesn't have enough range on its own. This C3700 router seems like it is sophisticated enough to be able to do that, but there isn't any documentation about it.
