Using AP mode on CAX-30

Question

I just got Frontier cable to my house, which uses an eero network connector and router.

I would like to use my CAX-30 in my detached garage to use it as an access point.

I would connect it with a cat6 cable and give the wifi a unique name to avoid interference with main router. I want to be able to login to CAX-30 with wifi, and access the internet and other computers on my private network. will this work? If not, how do I set this up?

Cable modems do not come with "AP mode" option. No WAN (Internet) port on the back.

According to manual, it does have AP mode but not bridge mode. Just don't fully understand how AP mode works

where are you seeing that?&nbsp;Because like&nbsp;michaelkenward&nbsp;says, there isn't a ap/bridge mode.&nbsp;
It either has modem/router or modem mode. that's it.&nbsp;

I guess it was in the technical articles.link to article&nbsp;If you check the models to the right, the CAX-30 is included.It is possible that is a mistake, but I'll have to try logging in the unit and check. CATV is disconnected, I think I can login with cat6 cable??

That article is not correct regarding the CAX series modems.&nbsp;They do not have or support AP Mode. Only Gateway and Modem Only. I have my CAX30 now in modem only as I'm running external wifi router systems.&nbsp;

It maybe possible it give the router portion of the CAX30 a IP address thats on your host router network, a static IP of 192.168.#.30, turn OFF DHCP service on the CAX30 and connect the CAX to the host router system unit one of the LAN ports in back. However there maybe a reboot issue as seen with the CAX80 where if the ISP Coax line is NOT connected to the CAX modem, it will enter into a reboot loop until the coax signal line is re-established. This is something thats on the CAX80. I just checked my CAX30 in modem mode with the coax line disconnected and it didn't reboot. I didn't checked router mode yet.&nbsp;
