Using C7000v2 as modem only for a separate router
So, I was thinking of buying a seperate Nighthawk router as it claims to deliver better internet performance for gaming as lag is a huge pain for me. I suffer as many in my house are using video streaming services and I thought the R7000 could solve my problem. Is there any way I can use my C7000v2 as a modem only to connect to my new router?

Yes, check the user manual for router or NAT mode. There should be a modem web page feature to set the modem from router to modem only. May just have a check box that says router mode or bridge mode.

Here's a radical concept:

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Connect Your
Modem Router to a Router After Installation and Activation".- diggityhotdawgAspirant
Thanks! I was pretty ignorant and didn't read the manual, so I got lazy and asked here. But is there any router y'all would reccomend in terms of video streaming and gaming at the same time? Cause I usually play games whenever my grandmother downstairs is watching her netflix and crap.

"A dumb question is an unasked question."
What forums are for as well.
Ya, once you bridge the modem and install a good quality router, you'll be fine.
