VERY SLOW WIFI SPEEDS C6220

I BOUGHT THIS MODEM ROUTER (AC1200 C6220) THIS PAST WEEKEND. I AM ONLY GETTING BETWEEN 18-22 MPBS. BEFORE THIS I WAS GETTING OVER 100 WITH MY D-LINK ROUTER AND ARRIS MODEM. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL. I'M NEW TO THIS SO ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

    I had a similar issue with slow speeds. I called support, they set 5g to Auto. Didn’t get 5gz at all. This week, using the netgear app, I just took a SWAG at channel 44. Worked great now get 180+ gbs at 5g channel on Xfinity. Same speed in used to get on the xfinity modem that I rented. Also, router gets Very Hot! Raised the back up on a 1 inch box and now it is a lot cooler so airflow on this router is extremely important.
