Virgin Hub 3.0

Hi all,

I have a Virgin hub, I want to extend my ethernet capability by linking an ethernet cable from my hub to a switch - actually 3 in different locations. I am currently using GS108 switches however these have stopped working in part.

Can anyone advise if these swiches are the best to use or if I need to change.

I used to be able to do everything, but now cannot gain a good signal via wifi or internet. I cannot even run spped checks. I have reset virgin, talked to their engineers, reset my laptop settings as well as my pc. However, I get perfect signal on my work laptop on wifi as well as VPN.

Totatlly confused, spent hours and hours on this.

Any ideas welcome :-)

A different forum might be more appropriate:

Sounds reasonable.  Cat5e or better cable?  Shorter than 100m?

       That's a bit vague.

    > [...] cannot gain a good signal via wifi or internet. [...]

Not a useful problem description.  It does not say what you did.  (Or
with what.)  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
    interpretations.

"via wifi"?  What do these GS108 switches have to do with your
    wireless stuff?

Again, not a very detailed description of anything.  To what is it
    connected, how?

       Same here.

Aside from asking in a better place, you might try to provide a
better description of what "cannot gain a good signal" means to you.
And a clearer description of what, exactly, is connected to what,
    exactly, how, exactly.
