Walled garden
I've had a walled garden on my modem for awhile I can't connect to any type on internet on it at all. Xfinity placed it and now can't remove it because it's my own equipment. I have factory reset seve...
What do you mean placed it and can't remove it?
ISP are responsible for modem association with there networks. They can remove and add modems at will from there networks. This is there responsibility.
Physiclal modem movement and such has to be done by the user or customer. You can disconnect the coax cable from the modem and move the modem or replace it with something different.

Xfinity put a walled garden in my modem so it won't allow internet access. I just paid over $150. For it so I was hoping to have it removed, so I didn't have to buy a new one. Xfinity recommend hiring an IT specialist to roll and re provision the Modem. The physical location has nothing to do the walled garden.
Xfinity is holds the key when associating any cable modem to there network. It's not up to the user or owner of the modem to do this. Walled garden is a user web page on there network so that user can easily associate and get a new modem connected to there network with out having to contact the ISP on the phone is all that is. This walled garden is not installed on a modem, rather it's there network detecting your modem and saying, we have detected a new modem, and will direct you to this walled garden web page so you can get the new modem associated with there network. Use of the new modems MAC address will be needed and user account information will be needed to get the modem associated correctly.
The ISP needs to work with you to get the modem installed on there system. They are responsible for this. You don't need a IT speciallist for this. The ISP has to provision the modem on there system.
