FURRYe38 What are we supposed to do when ISP's say they don't update customer-owned modems (CM500)? I've supplied my own to avoid the rentals fees and they say to reach out to Netgear...
ISPs control all of that. ISP handle there policies of updating FW and can choose to update user owned modems or not.
If they don't, then recommend using one of there modems and connecting your own external wifi router system to it and you can manage that.
