What is a good power range. What would be a great power range
I have a C6900 modem/wifi that when I enter the main page 192.168.0.1, I see "Good" on the Cable connection. Is there a Better or Great or Excellant entries available? My 24 download ranges from...

Thanks Netgear Community for your response back.
Yes my previous note should have been Upload speedtest, using Cox to my local OC of about 5-7..a week ago was 10.7+
So, I connected the modem cable directly and did see some improvement in my Modem values but not on the SpeedTest or the ping to cox.net. PingPlotter had the same issue, so it must be in COX's side or in my lines before the modem. Speedtest was still around 225 upload and 6.5 upload.
Modem with splitter: download was -8.8 to -13.9dBmV; SNR ranged between 33.4 to 37.9
Upload was Power 48.4 to 50.4
Modem without splitter...direct connect to wall..I power restarted after connections. Download was -4.9 to -7.7. SNR was 36.5 to 39.
Upload was Power 45 to 47.5
So the weak link may be the splitter.
Antronix, 2 way splitter 5-1002mHz
Cmc 2002HC-a with two -3.5db out ports.
Any suggestions, maybe an upgrade to the splitter. I may look at going from cat5e to cat6 cables. Both tests had 0 correctables/Un.
Thanks

I'd have to agree with trying a different splitter. You'll loose some signal strength with splitters but your variance in power shouldn't be quite what it is. Its good you don't have any errors.

Thanks Plemans for your follow-up. I've learned a little more about modem signals and tools. I was a little shocked by the variations across the channels and what the splitter removal values were. I don't seem to have issues that are really obvious...like real slow download or intermittent signal loss. I only started looking since COX always asks about modem power. Never understood, but I fell better. My download speeds is about 225Mbps, upload has dropped from 10 down to 5-6. For a non-gigablast system, I think this is OK.
I need a 2 splitter (a TV is on the other line), so are there model/brands that the community likes? What would be some high specifications that I would look for in a product?
Thanks
Ed

all splitters are going to cause some loss but yours might have been bad and caused more than it should have. You can try just a regular replacment. If its still dropping to far, you can ask your ISP to boost your signal. But if its working fine, I'd replace it and not worry to much.
