WiFI and WPS

How can I run WiFi And WPS at the same time. I bought an extender for my WiFI and need to use WPS to set up the extender. I have a nighthawk AC1900 WiFi cable modem router Model number C7000v2.

    I would look thru the user manual to see how WPS is handled on this model modem. I presume there maybe a button that can be pressed.

    Did you set it up using the push button WPS option? 

    If so, factory reset the extender  and set it up using the installation assistant.

    To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.
