WiFi drops intermittently
Hello, I've had the NETGEAR N450 (CG3000Dv2) WiFi Router for over a year now - since June 2015. It's worked completely fine with no issues until a week ago. The WiFi has been dropping randomly. I...

Hello kevos
Have you added anything new to your wireless network in the past couple weeks when the drop outs happen.

Hi, Darren. Thank you for your reply. No, I haven't added anything to the wireless network. The only things connected to the network are both my and my roommate's desktop computers.

Hello Kevos
Maybe try disconnecting them and testing the network if able or find out if they are using all the bandwidth downloading things when the wifi drops out.

Hi Darren,
I will try that today and will come back with an update after a day or so. Thank you.

Hi Darren, So after a few days I'm still having the same issue. I disconnected all the devices and tested the network. The bandwidth issue you mentioned didn't appear to be the reason as neither computer was using all the bandwidth when the wi-fi would drop.
I've also noticed a difference in how often the wi-fi drops. Before, it would drop at seemingly random times throughout the day, especially when I was using my deskop computer and the internet. Over the last few days the wi-fi now seems to stop working when any device using the internet has been shut down - that is, either of the desktop computers in the home. This doesn't happen with any smart phones using the internet, but we hardly shut them off anyway. So now the pattern appears to be whenever I need to turn on my computer the router needs to be reset. Any thoughts on that?

Hello Kevos
The only other thing I could suggest trying is to lower the date rate in the wireless settings to lower or higher than what you have it set to now I have seen in some cases this helping wifi but not all the time but there could be a issue with the wifi in the unit.
