Wifi Reset out of the blue - cable model CG3000Dv2

Hi. I’m trying to understand if there is an issue with my cable modem.

Last night, there was an internet outage in the area by my internet provider.

Then, I noticed the router wifi got changed to default which is the SSID is the name of the cable label. So, I wasn’t so sure what’s going of it got hacked or auto reset. I didn’t do any intervention knowing the outage will restore.

So, 1) is this normal ? 2) is there an issue or hacking activity since I didn’t make any change to setting esp the WiFi settings?

Hope u guys can help me with this concern.
Thanks!

Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute them back ON.

Be sure to have the ISP re-send the configuration file to the modem.

Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update?

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

If nothing seems to work, you may want to get into a newer modem model. The CG line is getting to be a bit older tech.
