Windows 10 Update slowed down my internet

Bought the Nighthawk AC2300 and the CM1000 Modem to switch away from the Xfinity Gateway. Save $25 a month rental fee. Was at 800mbps for a good 3 weeks. Huge Windows 10 update happened 5 days ago and now I'm down to 150mbps, or 200 tops.... I have no idea what to do. i've updated all the drivers, bought some driver update software, I've updated the Router Firmware to 1.3.2.134, called xfinity and they said my speeds are good on their end. My wifi adapter is an ASUS PCE-AC68 AC1900 PCIe Adapter that I bought in 2016, but why would that all of a sudden give me slower speeds.... need some guideance cuz i'm losing my mind.

  • Just needed to do a factory reset and I'm back at 700mbps. Idk if Windows 10 was the cause but its just weird it all happened at the same time.

What speed do you get hardwired into the router and the modem?

Hardwired was a good 750 to 800 before the win10 update, but I use Wifi since i can't have an ethernet cord running thru here. Heres the thing, Xfinitiy tech came today to test everything. He hardwired to the modem and it was at 1000mbps, then he hardwired to the Router and showed me top speed was 200. So it in fact is something with the Router. I'm thinking of doing a hard reset.

You sure can try a factory reset.

Have you tested it and not just the tech?

What site are you using for testing?

did you recently update the firmware?
