Wired CM400 modem activation
I want to activate my CM400 modem for Xfinity internet-only service so I have a separate wired laptop for internet access in addition to my XFi gateway. I can see the CM400 from the laptop, but cann...
Be sure to have the ISP help you activate the modem on there system.
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the Modem and PC. Remove any wifi routers between the modem and PC.
Power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back ON while the PC is connected to the modem.
Be sure your PC is using automatic IP addressing and not static IP addressing.
