I doubt that anything is "Due to this". You may have a problem, but
I doubt that these "Network" numbers are any part of it.

What is this "a 20 port network switch"?
Do the LED indicators on these devices indicate anything?

This all sounds to me like a Windows file-sharing mystery, not a
networking problem, as such.

The cable modem is a netgear cable modem, and the 20 port switch is a TP-Link branded switch. The LED indicators on the modem and switch show that everything is working just fine.
As far as my assumption that the network numbers have something to do with this, prior to my upgrading the Windows 7 computers to Windows 10, all of the computers had the same Network number and file transfers between computers took less than a minute depending on the file size. After this, they all have different numbers and the file transfer takes upwards of 4 hours. As far as the IP addresses that I use to ping the various computers and devices on my network, they all have the same first part of the IP, but they have their own corresponding number depending on what port of the switch that they are on. For instance, 111.1.2.x, where x is the port of the switch that the ethernet cable is plugged into.
Since this is more of a software issue than a hardware issue, I will have to try to get with the Microsoft folks to figure it out. I was hoping that someone else may have had the same type of issue.

What happens if you remove the switch from the network or directly connect PCs to the router?
- cgsfromkcApr 18, 2019Tutor
I had my two laptops connected to the router along with the main desktop. I still couldn't see all of the computers on the network with the laptops, but could see all of the computers with the main desktop. I have since reconnected all of the computers through the switch. I had issues with file transfer to my shared hard drive utilizing both connections. It takes hours to transfer files now, when it used to take under a minute.
I also posted this on Microsoft's help pages and one of the people over there says that Windows 10 has taken away the homegroup functionality and that Microsoft is wanting people to utilize OneDrive so files can be shared on the cloud service. My whole point of having a shared hard drive is so I don't have files shared on the cloud.
If I can't get this working, I will either roll back to Windows 7 or purchase a NAS drive.

If the system worked with out the switch in the mix, and doesn't with it's connected, then this switch maybe the problem. What is the model# of this swtich?
