how do I get Netgear to give me my refund?

I have been trying in vain over a couple of months to get a refund for a charge Netgear made by mistake.  No one seems to be able to deal with it. My case has been open for almost 2 months and each time I call I am told it has been escalated and someone will call me within an hour or within 24 hours and then nothing.  They blamed the India team and said someone local will deal with it and then nothing again... and on it goes. Does anyone know how I can get someone's attention to respond to my case? This is for a cable modem which was faulty and for which they opened an RMA, but the item they sent was faulty, like literally broken (!!) and so I returned it, on their advice, but I have been charged for not returning my own device. It is mind numbingly stupid to have to chase them for this refund. But here I am, two months in, still calling and not getting anywhere.

    Sounds bad, but there's not much we can do here.

     

    You should know that this community is essentially a user-to-user venue to talk about technical issues, with some input from a small band of Netgear techies.

     

    Most of the answers come from fellow users who have no connection with Netgear. They just have a lot of collective experience and are familiar with the sort of problems that turn up here.

     

    They aren't equipped to answers sales questions or to talk about warranty issues.

     

    If you want "official" support then you should go through the right channels.
