AC1200 how to update the password for access to the router?

Hi

I had to buy a new router that has a new password - how do I connect the extender to this router please?

Well you didn't put what model you have but I'd factory reset it and just follow the install guide.

Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.

    Then follow the guide.

If you go to netgear.com/support/   type in your model number and it'll take you to guides, videos, manuals, firmware. (hint, ac1200 isn't a model number)

Very true, but what are we even talking about?

This message appeared in the section for Powerline Networking. You shouldn't need to do anything when you move plugs from one router to another.

If we are talking abut a wifi extender rather than Powerline plugs, then certainly reset and set up from scratch.

      Visit the support pages:

and feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Begin with the Quick Start Guide, if there is one.
