Hi, I've been trying to setup a Powerline connection in my house with the PL1200. However my computer has no internet access. The lights on the adaptor connected to the modem are all solid green. The Power and Ethernet light on the adaptor connected to the computer are solid green. While the pick-a-plug light is green but blinks on and off every second or two. I've tried plugging it into multiple different sockets with no change. I have tried restoring both devices to factory defaults multiple time, and tried with and without the security key. My computer is displaying an unidentified network with no internet connection and I have tried resetting my IP settings with no results, however it does connect when I directly plug it into my router. I am wondering if there are any of things I can try to fix this problem?249Views0likes3CommentsFailing PL1000 takes down wired network
I have a powerline network with a PL1000 connected to my router and several PL1000 extenders connected to TVs in other rooms. When one of the PL1000 extenders is failing (no connectivity) it appears to take all the wired connections down with it. Any PCS connected to the router loose internet access. I can run the the windows network trouble shooter and get the message"Cannot reach the default gateway" and Fixed! That works great for a while but then before long I loose connectivity again. This problem only affects wired connections that is those using an ethernet cable connected to the router, through a switch, or via a powerline connections. Wireless connections to the router are fine. Only when I remove the problematic extender from the network is the problem resolved. I have tried a factory reset and resetting the security key to no avail. This has happend to me twice now with two different extenders, one a v2. On both there is only a the power LED on. Is there anything that can be done with these extenders?425Views0likes2CommentsPowerline 500 XAV5421 no internet connection - Router problem?
Hi, I have owned the Powerline 500 for several years and prior to moving to a new home I have had zero issues. They have been flawless. Since purchasing the 500s I have lived at multiple addresses with different internet service providers with different routers. However, since moving address 3 years ago, I went with a new provider (Sky) and have a new router and the 500s will not work. I have factory reset both and the power and pick a plug lights are on but when I am connected to the router and device the internet light only shows up on the device (games console) one. The one connected to the router just shows the PAP and power light - no Ethernet light appears on the router either and I have no internet at the games console. I borrowed a different manufacturer of Powerline and these worked without issue. I recently moved house again and I got a new Sky router (same model) and I have the same problem. I acquired brand new Powerline 1000s - PLP1000 and I have exactly the same symptoms! Again I have borrowed the alternative manufacturer ones and these work without issue. Is there a chance the issue is with the model of router or the router settings? Any help is very much appreciated!510Views0likes4CommentsPowerline Extender, Wall Plug
I’m wondering if the Powerline extenders work for wired internet for a work from home setup? I would assume yes since they would be plugged into the modem with an Ethernet cable and then plugged into my meraki with another Ethernet cable but I’ve never tried one and I don’t want to spend the money if it won’t work. Thanks!475Views0likes2CommentsNetgear PLP2000 mangement help
I am extremely frustrated. I want and need to verify they are setup securely. I cannot even find the ip to log in as my Nighthawk RS700 does not even show the power line adapters. Netgear also does not have a utility either any more. What gives Netgear? Why are these being sold with no support?848Views0likes5CommentsExpanding Powerline network
Hi, I have virgin media branded netgear power line that are the plugin ethernet cable type (1000?) One is plugged into my virgin router at the front of the house and the other was in my kitchen and then plugged into a Tenda wifi router. I have built a garden office and moved the power line and Tenda router in there, however, whilst working, the speed is much slower than it was in the kitchen. Red light - 1mbps. Distance from the Virgin router I'm guessing being the problem. Is it possible to buy another power line adapter that works with what I have and provides wifi for the kitchen and if so would it effect the speed of the router now in the garden office? Would it slow the garden office internet or speed it up (boost it along the power lines?!?!?). Thanks in advance.325Views0likes1CommentPLW1000v2 has no connectivity. Pick A Plug LED won't stay on.
I have 1 X PLW1000v2 and 3 X PL1000v2 which have been functional for a year or so. Recently the wireless stopped working on the PLW1000v2 and upon further inspection the Pick A Plug light will not stay on so there is no connectivity to the router. I see a "Failed to obtain IP address" from any client connected to the PLW1000v2 which tells me the wireless is working on the PLW1000v2 but it is not connected to the PL1000v2 adapter plugged into the router. The other PL1000v2 adapters are working fine connected with Ethernet cables so it is only an issue with the PLW (wireless adapter). I have reset all to factory settings many times but get same result. I have moved the PLW to the same room as the router with same result. Below is a timeline of LED status light changes when plugging in the PLW device using the manual designated LED light #'s from left to right (7 3 1 2) as shown below. At 58 seconds, the Pick A Plug LED goes out and stays out. Does anyone have ideas on how to fix or troubleshoot this?
