You've got it. The PLW1000 suggested by clithes would deliver wifi into the TV room as well as a wired link to the TV.
The "remote" end of the PLW1000 is an Access Point for wifi and a LAN socket for the TV. It can do both at the same time. A perfect choice for your needs.

That's good advice. It is how I do things. I chip in only to add this link to the page that tells you how to do add the new plugs to your existing Powerline network so that you have only one plug connected to the router:

I will also bring you some bad news, well, maybe not that bad. You will not be able to buy a single PLW1000 plug. Netgear, and most Powerline makers, sell bundles of pairs of plugs. So you may end up with a spare plug. (You need only one connected to your router if you follow the stiff in the link above.) Perhaps you have something else that could use that.
