I’m wondering if the Powerline extenders work for wired internet for a work from home setup? I would assume yes since they would be plugged into the modem with an Ethernet cable and then plugged into my meraki with another Ethernet cable but I’ve never tried one and I don’t want to spend the money if it won’t work. Thanks!473Views0likes2CommentsCompatibility PowerLINE 500, 1 Port Adapter(XAV5421)
Hi, Had a query re an old product that i have, the PowerLINE 500, 1 Port Adapter(XAV5421), is this compatible with the NETGEAR PLP1000-100UKS 1 Port, 1000 Mbps, 1 Gigabit Port Powerline Adapter ? Also would I be able to use the TP link av600 powerline adaptor too with these ? I look forward to your response. Also an FYI - your over the phone customer service is really bad, they have just hung up the phone on me.693Views0likes3CommentsPower line and nighthawk
Hi, I have the net gear nighthawk mesh network. All good. I want to add netgear power lines. My understanding is I connect the power line to my router via Ethernet. I recently had a new router and it only has 1 Ethernet port. So if I use the power line I can no longer plug in my base unit for the nighthawk. What do I need to have both powerline and nighthawk when the router only has 1 Ethernet port? Thanks809Views0likes4CommentsPowerline PL 1200 and PLP 1200 - can they be used together
I have the Powerline Model PL 1200 connected to my (serivce provider installed) Comtrend Model AR-5319 and it is working well. I want to add 2 more adapters for other TVs. Since we live in a forest with "not great" internet coverage, I'd like to add the PLP 1200 adaptors to try to get the most out or our connection. Will the PL and PLP devices work together - my PL 1200 instructions are from Oct 2015-doesn't say what generation it is? Also, since there are no "additional adapters" for sale, I assume the Set of adapters sold, can each either be used as the main (connected to the internet service box) OR the receiving (connected to the TV/item) device. Is that correct?1.1KViews0likes2CommentsCan you buy an additional outlet?
Hello: I like the Powerline 2000 with the extra outlet. It works well. If it would work, I would like to purchase an additional outlet to provide connectivity to a device in another room. The idea would be to still have one device connected to the modem that delivers Internet to two outlets instead of one. I talked to a Netgear rep who said it should technically work but that they don’t sell individual outlets. This would mean I would have to buy an additional bundle to either connect two Powerline devices to my modem for the two outlets or have the one device connected to my modem glide both. Is it true they don’t sell the individual outlets? This seems to me to defeat the purpose of a node and really doesn’t make sense. Has anyone else dealt with this and solved it in a realistic way? Thank you.1KViews0likes3CommentsPowerline 500 And Multiple Devices
Hi, thinking of buying a Powerline 500 device. I need it for two separate bedrooms. Can I have multiple end points from one device on the "other end" where it is plugged into the router? I would need a Powerline unit in each room. Thank you!1.1KViews0likes2CommentsPowerline PLP1200 5Ghz compatability?
Hello, I was getting low internet speeds with my PLP1200 so I upgraded my ISP service plan to 400 mbps. They sent me a modem and a router and I still get 30 mbps through this device while my Macbook air is sporting 230 mbps through its inbuilt wifi adapter. Does the PLP1200 not support 5 Ghz? I even connected a garbage Canakit wifi dongle with 2.4 GHz compatability and it was hitting around 30 mbps this is why I suspect the powerline adapter is not registering the internet with higher speed. Is there not a firmware for this device?1.5KViews0likes1CommentLooking for the best Netgear for my needs
I'm working on a potential wireless project for our church and I need help determining the best Netgear product to meet my needs. It's an old building with wireless being the easiest option. We have cable entering the building. I plan to install a Netgear wireless router in the office. I plan to have a secure wireless network as well as an open guest network. Due to the design of the building, I have a need for wireless coverage in three other areas of the building. The Powerline Networking options are the most appealing but there are several to choose from. Unfortunately, we will have to support 2.4 as well as 5 GHz. I would like to broadcast the same SSID's throughout the building. The user should be able to join the wireless network and travel throughout the building, moving between the devices. I want to avoid them having to join multiple networks in the buidling if possible. Hopefully I can sync the three devices with the wireless router, then deploy them throughout the building. Is this possible with the available products? I welcome any and all suggestions.1KViews0likes2Comments
