Adding wifi facility yo PL 1000 system

You've got it. The PLW1000 suggested by clithes would deliver wifi into the TV room as well as a wired link to the TV.
The "remote" end of the PLW1000 is an Access Point for wifi and a LAN socket for the TV. It can do both at the same time. A perfect choice for your needs.

Jokes aside, thank you for your help, things are becoming much clearer and a swap would be good as it would be useful to be able to access wifi in the TV (connected via PL 1000/LAN) room for our mobile 'phones etc.
It seems that the purchase of a PLW 1000 would make the present PL1000 system redundant, or, if just using the wifi/LAN end of the PLW 1000 would make the input end redundant. Hope to have a word with Virgin tomorrow.
I usually get there in the end particularly with the help of members of relevant communities, like your good selves, for which I'm always very gratefull
