Hi,
Changed my R7000 to Access Point mode, and took my SuperHub out of Modem only mode (but making sure the SuperHubs wireless stuff was turned off). Then made sure I didn't use any Yellow Ethernet ports when wiring up my home network,

Thanks for all your efforts.

We really need to know which models you have. HomeplugAV2 is backwards compatible with HomeplugAV, for example, but neither would work with the original Homeplug 1.0 specification (like an old HDX101 unit)
Without knowing what kit you have it's difficult to answer what might be going wrong
If your laptop is showing an IP address of 169.xx.xx.xx then it isnt getting an IP address from your network via DHCP, it is, in effect, giving itself an IP address.

Thanks for your prompt response.
Just checked, and the two existing power adapters are XAV5601's.

Ok so they are HomeplugAV compatible. What version have you just purchased?

That cool that they are compatible.
Sorry I didn't add these product numbers in my reply, was sure I'd list this info in the original question.
The adapters I have just brought was the XAVB5221 set that includes two XAV5221 adapters.
