Ethernet & PowerLine Issues
I'm having issues with my Ethernet Connectivity dropping out and loosing all capability to even talk to the router. As my router is downstairs I have an ethernet cable running from Port 1 of the Router to a switch connected to my Main PC, NAS, Server & Printer, then a Powerline running for the PC's & Smart TV's in the living room.
After spending days rebuilding all of my computers to rule out software issues, I have since found the issue arises when the Powerline is connected to the router. When the ethernet drops, as soon as the powerline is unplugged the ehternet goes back up. Is there a simple trick I am missed as I don't really want to be running cables all round the house as we are only in this property temporarily.
Router is Netgear D6400 - Running V82 on Firmware.
PowerLine is Netgear PLP1000 & PLP1000 V2
Switch used is a Netgear 8 Port Gigabit Switch.
I can use the powerline when it decides to work, with pretty good speeds from my other PC connected to the other end,

Your network seems to be atypical. The long run from the switch to the router isn't normal. Most of us plug the switch into the router over a short connection.I don't know if that makes much difference.
In my case, the powerline "feed" is connected to the switch, not to the router. Try that.
If the network still dies that rules out long cable runs.
