I cannot connect to my powerline adapter's wifi network (PLW1010). mywifiext.net does not work.

I have owned this powerline wifi adapter for over a year and haven't had a problem until today.  I don't know what happened, but I no longer get an internet connection using the adapter.  All the lights are working ok.  I tried a factory reset, but that did not work.  I tried connecting directly to my computer using a LAN cable, but that did not work.  The networks show up as wifi options on my laptop but they all have "No internet connection."  When I try to go to mywifiext.net, I get the following error:

"YOU ARE NOT CONNECTED TO YOUR EXTENDER’S WIFI NETWORK. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CURRENT CONNECTION AND TRY AGAIN.

For detailed instructions how to do this please see: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29746"

I tried the options in the above link, but still can't access mywifiext.net.

When I connect to the adapter using the ethernet cable and run the windows diagnostic tool, it tells me that the LAN "doesn't have a valid IP configuration."

Please help, this is driving me nuts!  :smileymad:

Is that connecting to the LAN using a cable plugged into the HomePlug?

Have you taken the plugs through the setup process again?

Treat the dodgy plug as a new member of the family:

Try moving the plug to a different electrical socket, to rule that out. And use different cables to eliminate that one.

So the problem solved itself!  I left everything plugged in overnight and, when I woke up the next day, everything worked - I was able to connect to the adapter's wifi and access mywifiext.net.  Still not sure what the problem was or whether anything I did (e.g., factory reset) contributed to fixing it.
