I have PLW1000. Can I also use AV500?

The easiest way to add a new plug to an existing network is to do it with the plugs as close to each other as possible. When you have introduced the new plug to the network, you can move it to where you want it. The plug remembers its settings.
Yes you can add them together, however the maximum data transfer rate will be limited to the slowest adapter (in this case the AV500)
I suspect they are not sharing the same encryption key (password) so are not communicating with each other.
Factory reseting them all will return their password to HomeplugAV, which will mean they share the same network.
By all means once you have them working change the password to something of your choosing.
Netgear Genie --> Network Map --> Powerline Network (image top right) then right click one of the adapters and select 'Security'. From here you can change the security settings of all adapters if you have the remote Device password already in Genie
Failing this connect each adapter one at a time to your PC/ Laptop by LAN cable and change the password this way until all adapters are done
